Each spring we are delighted to partner with Travelzoo to offer a selection of our internationally renowned 2, 3 & 4 day all inclusive sea kayaking tours. These spectacular trips are designed to get you in front of as much marine wildlife and give as much fun as possible. We use base camps that we have specially selected to be right in the heart Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Sound on the Eastern edge of Queen Charlotte Strait.
We start first thing in the morning, from our kayak boat ramp in the remote village of Telegraph Cove on Northern Vancouver Island (BC), directly into Johnstone Strait and the wilderness beyond and return late in the afternoon on your final day.
We do base camps differently! North Island Kayak has established 6 base camps in the remote wilderness area of Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Sound, home of Orcas (or Killer Whales), Humpback Whales, Sea Lions and eagles. On our tours of 2, 3 & 4 days, we will select from among these camps to give you the best possible chances of seeing the wildlife we know is out there, while providing an enjoyable sea kayaking adventure and a fun, safe experience. While our 2 day tour will only get to stay at one of these camps, our 3 and 4 day tours will usually camp at more than one. The ability to change camps gives us the chance to show you more of this spectacular area and more of the wildlife that abounds.
The animals we seek are wild, they are not constrained just to one area and they tend to move around to be where the food is. If you are stuck at just one camp for your whole trip and the animals are feeding elsewhere, there is a good chance you will not see them. With North Island Kayak being able to select from so many camps, we can choose those that give the best possible chances of spectacular encounters and cover a much larger territory.
