UPDATE AS OF MARCH 17, 2020
Due to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we understand many are re-evaluating their travel plans for this season. Our number one priority at North Island Kayak is the health and safety of our staff and guests. In response, we are reaching out to our kayaking community to announce updates to our standards.
Are you still operating your trips?
Yes! We are looking forward to launching our 2020 season on May 18th. We will also be extended our season and offering our Half Day Johnstone Strait Guided Sea Kayaking Trip until October 11th.
What if I have to cancel?
In this time of uncertainty, we are relaxing our cancellation standard. We are waiving administration fees for cancellations outside of 60 days, so those who wish to book but hold a level of uncertainty can still feel confident in reserving their spaces.
We strongly suggest you invest in Travel Insurance to protect yourself from any loss you may suffer due to our cancellation policy. Travel insurance is available through credit card providers or any company that offers home and auto insurance.
What if the trip gets cancelled?
Should we will need to cancel your kayaking tour due to extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will try to re-schedule your trip or, on request, refund all payments you have made to us. Our total liability to you is limited to no more than this amount, we are not responsible for any other costs incurred by you.
Our Promise for 2020
We will continue to run small tours at or below the industry standard of a 6:1, guests to guide. All of our gear and equipment is thoroughly washed and sanitized between uses and we will be increasing our cleaning schedule in communal spaces. On multi-day trips, our incredible guides will provide additional training for guests on proper camp sanitation. Both on land and on our tours, we will be offering additional access to sanitation with increased number of stations and supplies.
We are also excited to announce a partnership with our sister company, Prince of Whales Whale & Marine Wildlife Adventures, to offer a Whale Sightings Guarantee
on select tours.
This summer, North Island Kayak will continue to focus on promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. We invite our guests to experience Telegraph Cove’s famous wildlife and incredible wilderness. As we continue dead-reckoning through these challenging times, we ask our community to remain unified and vigilant. Wash your hands and call your neighbours - every action counts.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do no hesitate to contact us.
See you on the water!
